The Fillmore Family Foundation, headed by drag divas Linda and Doreen Fillmore, presented its fifth anniversary Prairie Fairies Fowl Supper to benefit local AIDS charities. Joining the Fillmore sisters were 550 guests at the Roundhouse Community Centre. The Fowl Supper, a Prairie phenomenon, first brought to life through the involvement of church groups and service clubs, celebrates the fall harvest with jellied salads, a turkey dinner and some two-stepping. The tradition successfully crossed the Rockies with this year's feast expected to raise $25,000.

The hope in the fight against prostate and ovarian cancer shined a little brighter at the Ninth annual VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation's Night of a Thousand Stars Gala. Amidst the wine tours, auction and Motown music, the black-tie affair at the Hotel Vancouver recognized the efforts of volunteers, donors, doctors and researchers in the fight against prostate and ovarian cancer.

Musical theatre season is in full swing. The Arts Club Theatre weighs in with its annual musical offering... this time, the story of fabulous Funny Girl Fanny Brice and her meteoric rise to stardom as a member of the Ziegfeld Follies.

Balthazar Lounge was the site of an irresistibly hypnotic  evening as Cascadia launched its cool blue spirit. Industry partners and influential style makers were introduced to thenew Hpnotiq blue spirit, a blend of cognac, vodka and tropical fruit juices.

Old Saint Nick and his band of elves fuelled up at the Hotel Vancouver Santa Claus breakfast prior to marching down Burrard and Georgia for Vancouver's first Roger's Santa Claus Parade.

Over 55 decorated Christmas trees from businesses and community leaders were lit up and displayed at the Four Season's Hotel for the B.C. Children's Hospital Foundation annual Festival of Trees fundraiser. This year's expected proceeds of $150,000 will benefit genetic research.

A Night of a Thousand Stars co-chairwomen Heather Jones and Hannalie Stockernstrom, along with Foundation chairman Dave Mitchell (left) and gala emcee, the VSO’s Bramwell Tovey (right), were happy that the benefit raised $100,000.

Actor Jackson Davies and wife Linda attended the $250 ticket, VGH and UBC Hospital Foundation’s star-studded black tie affair at the Hotel Vancouver. Davies currently stars in two films out in release— The Wild Guysand A Beachcomber’s Christmas.

In front of her snowman-themed tree is eight-year-old Chloë Delaney-Wolverton with mom Karen and Festival of Trees chairman Erik Benson. Chloë has raised thousands of dollars for B.C. Children’s Hospital with her annual calendar.

Cailin Stadnyk and Don Noble star in Funny Girl at The Stanley Theatre. Forty years ago, the original production made a star out of Barbra Streisand, spawning a movie and a sequel. It includes the unforgettable songs “People” and “Don’t Rain On My Parade.”
