Wal-Mart an improvement

To the editor:

Re: "Report calls for limits on big box rag retailers," May 8.

I find it rather amusing that anyone who shops on Fraser Street would feel Wal-Mart was going to lower those stores' businesses. I think the trees, the tables and sandwich boards do more to lower business. If you can get by these stores or what I call "stalls," you are darn lucky; if you have a walker or stroller, you almost end up out on the road. It would be great to have parking at Wal-Mart and racks of quality clothing to browse through.

Give me a Wal-Mart any day over the filthy blocks along Fraser Street. No amount of money will change the way businesses on Fraser keep their stores or sidewalks.
